Requirements
- Emergency paramedic according to Section 1 of the Emergency Paramedic Act (NotSanG)
- At least two years of experience as an emergency paramedic on land
- Knowledge of German at least C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- Good knowledge of English
- Strong social skills and professional demeanor
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness for training and further education
- Willingness to take on 14 day shifts
- Class B driving license
- Swimming skills

Assessment-Center
We invite all applicants we would like to get to know to a two-day assessment center. This is made up of the following three components:
- Personal introduction: introduction to the group, interview, evening together
- Professional competence: written test, practical case studies, knowledge of English
- Physical performance: sports test, swimming and climbing ability
Onboarding Process
We have developed a detailed and extensive onboarding plan. This significantly helps both new employees and our organization during the planning process. This onboarding process has six phases:
Preliminary Phase
In this initial phase, you will receive your work wear, personal protective equipment, IT access, and all relevant documents. We will also discuss the planning of your training and continuing education.
Introduction
You will be introduced to the team and gain access to our internal information system. This will help you to familiarize yourself quickly with all the organizational structures and processes.
Qualification
During this phase, you will actively participate in training and development programs to acquire the necessary qualifications and knowledge for your role.
Location Berne
At the Berne location you will receive training on the topics of the Medical Devices Act (MPG), hygiene, material management, telemedicine and software training.
At the Work Location
Here you will gain practical experience for the project. During the training, you will be introduced to the specific processes and peculiarities of the location.
Regular Meetings
To help you get to know your new colleagues, we have scheduled regular meetings. These include conversations after the probationary period and feedback discussions.

The Johanniter carry out offshore rescue work on ships and platforms in the North and Baltic Seas. One of them is Michael Stanley, emergency paramedic and offshore rescuer: During their missions, they ensure medical care for people at sea or support them in air rescue. In offshore rescue, it is particularly important to work together as a team in order to reach our goal together. Many nationalities, tasks and challenges always bring variety to everyday working life and never let it get boring.
